Chain Store Operation

The Problem

A Manager who has access to store keys that he manages leaves the company.   The former employee may or may not return the keys they were given to access the stores that they manage.   Even if the keys are recovered from the former employee, all locks they had access to must be reset or new keys made.   Management of these store keys can prove to be very time consuming and expensive, especially when there is a high employee turnover rate.

The Challenge

How to control access without the difficult key management and lock re-keying?

The Solution

The store can replace their existing locks with a ten-digit key pad locking device that generates combinations daily or more often if needed.   When the store opens the manager calls Dial a Key and the automated telephone service will give them a combination if all information the manager enters is accurate. The manager then enters the combination into the locking device, and if correct, the door will open.   When the manager leaves the company the "Key Master" can log into our secure website and deactivate the previous manager's account and activate or add a new manager account.   If the old manager attempts to retrieve the combination using Dial a Key they will receive an "Access Denied" message and will not be given the combination.

The Benefits

There are many benefits to using the Dial a Key system, they include:

  • No locksmith
  • No keys
  • Detailed activity logs
  • High Security
  • Member access to different locations managed via a secure web site
  • Combinations are changed daily at midnight (or more often if needed)
