The Problem
Police stations must keep evidence collected at a crime scene in a very secure area.
If evidence is tampered with the whole case could be thrown out in court.
Evidence logs are used to keep track of views evidence but these can be difficult to maintain.
The Challenge
How to control access to the evidence without the need of evidence logs that can be difficult to maintain.
The Solution
Evidence is stored in a Dial a Key locker that has a ten-digit key pad locking device.
When the evidence needs to be viewed a member can use Dial a Key to retrieve the current lockers combination code.
They enter the combination code into the key pad and, if correct, the locker will open,
allowing the officer to take the evidence out of the locker.
If the police officer does not have access to the evidence, or they leave the force
the "Key Master" can log into our secure website and deactivate the account and activate or add new accounts.
If an unauthorized member tries to retrieve the combination using Dial a Key they will receive an "Access Denied" message and
will not be given the combination.
